Due to the poor air quality, the Running Club and Sportsmania electives will be inside today. For Running Club, the kindergarten students will stay with Mrs. Brindley in the classroom, first grade students will stay with Mrs. Thompson in the classroom and the second and third grade students will be with Mrs. Mueller in the library. The Sportsmania students will stay with Mr. Clare in his classroom. Please pick up your child where you would normally pick them up if they didn't have an elective. After-School Electives are Coming the Week of September 21!!

Rattler Families, we are excited to announce that we will be starting after-school electives beginning the week of September 21. Our school board is in the process of developing a Re-opening Plan for our elective program. We will be sharing this Re-opening Plan with you after their final approval of the plan. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our elective program will have some changes and modifications in order to keep classes smaller and in order to keep grade level students in their grade level cohorts. Next week, we will be sending home the sign-up sheet for Fall Electives. Completed elective sign-up sheets will be due back to school by Monday, September 14. Listed below are some of the changes that will be taking place in our elective program:

  • Smaller Class Sizes - In many cases, elective classes will be half the size of the classes from last year.
  • Limited Enrollments - Due to the smaller class sizes, many students will not receive their first choice in some of their classes.
  • Face Coverings Required - Just like during site classes, all staff and 3rd-8th graders will be required to wear a face covering inside elective classes.
  • 1st Semester Electives will begin September 21 and continue through the end of January.
  • 2nd Semester Electives will begin February 1 and continue through the end of school.

About Our School

About Us

Cottonwood Creek Charter School is located in the historic town of Cottonwood in northern California. We are a kindergarten through 8th grade public school sponsored by the Cottonwood Union School District  and offer a quality, tuition-free education. Our family-friendly school schedules are independent study based and we offer two educational options: traditional classroom site classes and homeschool. Our site based classes are small (maximum of 24 students per class) to optimize learning and teacher/student interaction. We have a wide variety of after-school electives such as music, art, sports, science, ceramics, sewing, drama, technology and study hall to enrich learning. Our goal is to work with families to provide the best educational environment for every child.
